You don’t absolutely need a degree to get a good job, but people who have one tend to make more money than those who don’t. There are some good jobs that don’t require degrees, but the competition is high and the market is low. When you earn a degree, you invest in yourself and your future.
If you want more than an entry-level position and an entry-level salary, you will most likely need a degree. Without a degree, people tend to get stuck in dead-end jobs with no chance for advancement. You might be able to advance in your career without a degree, but not until you have years of experience.

Don’t choose a degree based on salary, what your friends are doing, or even what your parents what you to do. Earn your degree in a field that you’re passionate about, and something that you can envision yourself doing for the rest of your life.

To be successful, you have to work hard at something, and while you’re working towards a degree, you’re learning the skills you need for future success. People tend to only consider the field of study, but through all of the discipline that you put into earning your degree, you learn lessons about the value of hard work and perseverance that you will carry with you throughout your lifetime.
